What People Are Saying
Cybersecurity is part of EVERYONE’s job, and tribal leaders need to be informed and actively participating to protect their tribe or tribal enterprise to be effective. For the last 22+ years, TribalHub has been committed to bringing tribes the information that matters most for the present and future times. Right now, we are in the middle of a wave of increased cybersecurity attacks that are knocking on, knocking down and even temporarily closing the doors of tribal governments and their enterprises nationwide.
It’s our responsibility and place in the tribal community to inform and arm tribes with the best practices, tools, education, resources, and connections to enhance their cybersecurity posture. In a single day of event sessions, you can gain a broad executive level understanding of how to professionally lead and participate in your tribe’s security strategy and to navigate your tribe or tribal enterprise through the current turbulent cybersecurity waters.

8:00am to 8:50am PDT |
Why Cybersecurity Starts with Executives, Not the IT Department
Engaged executive leadership that understands and supports the organization’s security initiatives and strategy is perhaps the most critical key to a tribe’s security success. The majority of devastating breaches have historically been the result of human interaction or lax or disengaged security processes or procedures. Tribal leadership needs to understand and champion the importance of the organization’s security. |

Executive Level - Demystifying Complexities of Cybersecurity
Let’s talk about cybersecurity in non-technical language and provide a framework for better communication between tribal executives and cybersecurity professionals. In this session we will focus on the goals of organizational cyber security without all of the technology acronyms and tech talk that can, and does, create a barrier to effective security planning and communication. Join this session if you want to improve your ability to effectively communicate, budget and prepare an organizationally supported strategy around security. |

This will include some tips on being more effective in communications between cybersecurity human resources and the executive team. |

Cybersecurity Resources Tribes and Enterprises Need to Know About - Tribal-ISAC, CISA, MS-ISAC and more
Tribes across the nation are banding together to share valuable security information, and best practices in a safe and trusted environment. You absolutely NEED to be aware of these resources and participating to be making the best effort in protecting your tribe or tribal enterprise. It starts with the simple process of becoming a member of the non-profit Tribal-ISAC, the Information Security Sharing Community specifically for tribes. Additionally, presenting in this session as representatives from The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and both the Multi-State ISAC (MS-ISAC) introduce you to their available resources and your tribal contacts at those agencies. Preparedness and solid security has never been best achieved through isolation, so the time to get engaged with resources is now. |
