In my current capacity as the CIO, I oversee the Infrastructure, Support, and Security functional areas as well as the Health Information Systems team.  I have over 18 years of IT experience starting out in the PC Support area as an intern and then moving into the Network Services area with a focus towards network, systems, and telecommunications.  The pandemic has afforded me the opportunity to learn additional areas within the Oneida Nation’s Digital Technology Services (DTS) Department such as Information/Cyber Security, Health Information Systems, Gaming DTS, and general IT Director roles and responsibilities.

Timothy Johnson, Sr.

BIO

Timothy is a leader, bringing more than 28 years of experience in the field of information technology and a diverse background in corporate settings, working for Marktech Systems Inc and the Saint Paul Pioneer Press. Currently, he serves as the Director of IT at MLCV Professional Services, overseeing the Information Technology department as well as coordinating infrastructure, and servicing delivery across the company. 

He is responsible for IT units which support enterprise applications, enterprise data, user support, infrastructure, communications, and information security. He has led multiple technology vendor selection processes, contract negotiations, and the subsequent implementations, managing multiple implementation partners, and stakeholders throughout these projects. 

Previously, Timothy served in different capacities within the IT department at Grand Casinos – System Technician, Networking Engineer, Application Engineer, Service Desk Manager, and Director of Service Operations. He is presently a member of TribalHub and the Midwest Tribal Technology Council.  

He and his wife, Mindy, live in Hinckley with their children, TJ, Trevor, Brady, Kenna, and Lainey. In his spare time, you can find Timothy taking his family to Disney, or watching Baseball year-round.  

Mark Treat

VP of IT

SMSC Gaming Enterprise

BIO

Mark Treat is a high-energy, results-oriented senior technology and business executive with more than 25 years of information technology and business leadership experience. In 2016, Mark became the Vice President of Information Technology for the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC) Gaming Enterprise, which includes Mystic Lake Casino Hotel and Little Six Casino. He is also responsible for the technologies within the SMSC government and the SMSC enterprises. Prior to serving as VP of IT, he had been the IT Director for the Gaming Enterprise since 2011.

Prior to joining the SMSCE Gaming Enterprise, Mark served in numerous technology roles over the course of a decade for Brown Printing Company. He holds an MBA from the University of St. Thomas and a BA from Beloit College. In his free time, Mark enjoys many adventures by biking, hiking, sailing, traveling, and keeping up with his grandchildren.

 

Alan Walt

Director of IT

Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa

BIO

Alan has worked in IT for the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa for the past 20 years.  He has held many roles in his IT career with Fond du Lac and is currently the Director of Information Technology.  Alan leads a team of 30 that supports the Fond du Lac enterprises, which include 2 casinos, 3 hotels, a Tribal owned ISP, a convenience store, a propane company, 2 radio stations and more.  Alan’s IT Team also supports the Tribal Government and programs, these programs include two clinics, 3 pharmacies, head start/early head start, a K-12 school, resource management, Tribal court, law enforcement, and the various other programs needed to sustain Fond du Lac and its membership.  Alan has been a member of the Midwest Tribal Technology Council (MTTC) since its inception and has prompted the benefits of this group to other Tribal IT professionals.
