Operationalizing Data Sovereignty: Controlling Security Telemetry Without Losing Visibility
About the Webinar
Category: Technology
On Tuesday, November 17, 2026 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm (Eastern).
As Tribal Governments modernize their cybersecurity programs, one principle remains constant: data sovereignty. Protecting sensitive Tribal data is more than a compliance obligation. It reflects governance, stewardship, and sovereign authority.
But in today’s distributed technology environments, security telemetry moves constantly across cloud platforms, managed service providers, security tools, and third parties. Logs are forwarded, duplicated, enriched, stored, and analyzed in multiple locations, often without clear visibility into where data resides, who can access it, or how long it is retained.
In this session, we’ll explore how Tribal organizations can turn data sovereignty from policy into architectural control. We’ll examine where sovereignty can erode, including vendor lock-in, oversharing raw logs, unmanaged retention, and default cloud forwarding behaviors, and discuss practical ways to regain control over how security data is processed, routed, stored, and retained without sacrificing visibility.
Attendees will learn how to:
• Identify where sensitive telemetry may be leaving their environment
• Align data governance with logging and monitoring architecture
• Filter or redact sensitive Tribal, healthcare, or gaming data before sharing externally
• Route telemetry based on sensitivity and operational need
• Apply tiered data strategies that keep high-value data under Tribal control while improving cost and long-term retention
• Maintain visibility across existing tools while reducing unnecessary data movement and duplication
