Headquartered in Washington, ImageSource has spent more than 30 years delivering flexible, AI-powered automation and technology solutions that help organizations achieve faster results, better decision-making, and simpler processes.

ImageSource regularly partners with sovereign nations nationwide to maximize impact with limited resources and simplify complex operations across federal funding, member services, and cultural heritage preservation.

ImageSource offers several solutions to support Tribal communities, including Member Services and Federal Program Delivery, Records Management and Historical Preservation, Financial Operations, and Funding Recovery.

“We worked with Tribal communities to build the Indirect Cost Rate Proposal solution to maximize indirect cost recovery from federal funds within days,” ImageSource VP of Marketing Marni Carmichael said. “A guided 5-step automated process compresses preparation from months to days, calculates every available methodology simultaneously, and produces defensible, audit-ready documentation teams can own. Our member services solutions streamline communication, advance access to benefits and services available, and streamline records for better back-office responsiveness.”

Historical preservation digitizes precious and irreplaceable documents, including treaty rights, resolutions, and language preservation, in a single repository where administrators and members can search and retrieve them. This process permanently protects records from mold, floods, age decay, and other damage.

Carmichael explained that all solutions are tailored to each Tribe's ways of working, so ImageSource’s solutions fit how work gets done.

“There is no rip-and-replace; we often fill gaps and automate manual processes within the structures already implemented within the Tribe,” Carmichael said.

The ILINX Platform’s Tangible Value:

  • Quinault Indian Nation Enrollment Modernization: The Quinault Indian Nation partnered with ImageSource to implement ILINX Engage after facing vulnerabilities from reliance on paper and a single-PC software system. The web-based solution tracks family trees to validate both ancestry criteria and blood quantum qualifications. The system automates validations, issues Certificates of Indian Blood and Tribal IDs, and enables 24/7 access on any device. The investment in digital efforts reduced manual data entry by more than 10 hours weekly and lowered administrative labor costs by 10%.
  • Pacific Northwest Historical Preservation: Managing crucial historical documents dating back over 150 years, one Pacific Northwest tribe established a dedicated Historical Records Conversion Center powered by ILINX and specialized scanning hardware. ImageSource provided on-site training to employ 10 tribal members, enabling the tribe to digitize language resources, treaty documents, landmark court cases, and recorded interviews with Elders.
“Our project management teams work diligently with Tribes to understand what needs to be accomplished, the current process in place, and how technology can be implemented to make systems work faster,” Carmichael said. “Our team doesn’t just provide the solution and walk away.  We run discovery-led design sessions aligned to workflows, integration, and user needs. Our Professional Services teams stay involved through implementation, training, and tuning for better adoption and usability. We also offer state-side, concierge-level support, including educational sessions to build comfort and usability.”

Human-Centered AI Focus

To bolster skill transfer, ImageSource's Professional Services and project management teams lead discovery-led design sessions and stay engaged through deployment, training, and tuning.

Carmichael said ImageSource’s state-side concierge-level support and educational programs ensure local technology-minded teams maintain full operational ownership.

“We know AI is most valuable when it understands your organization’s knowledge and operates within the governance you already trust,” Carmichael said. “From onboarding content, structuring it for AI, and putting it to work in decisions and actions, Tribes have operational AI that is defensible, auditable, and never leaves your control. ImageSource understands that every organization and Tribe is at a different comfort level with AI, so we look for ways to integrate in areas where manual effort could be better spent making decisions and pushing initiatives forward instead of entering, searching, and chasing. While AI helps identify issues and automate routine processes, all decisions remain under human oversight and control.”

Looking ahead, ImageSource is working to advance end-to-end AI pipeline development tailored for sovereign governance.

Leaders can connect with the ImageSource team at upcoming regional forums to explore these solutions firsthand.
