GAYLORD, Mich. — TribalHub has welcomed Northern Michigan native Olivia Fellows as its new Industry Engagement & Narrative Producer.
Fellows joins the team bringing over 5 years of professional experience in the journalism and media industry. She has previously worked and written for multiple organizations, including 910 Media Group, The Pioneer Group (Hearst Community Newspapers), the Leelanau Enterprise, Traverse Magazine's MyNorth.com, Loop Software & Testing Services, and the Grand Valley Lanthorn.
Fellows has won multiple Michigan Press Association awards and a Michigan Association of Broadcasters Digital Excellence award for her previous work.
In her role at TribalHub, Fellows will help spearhead the organization’s content production and industry connections. Fellows’ work will center on research and production of compelling articles, case studies, and feature stories spotlighting community members, leaders, and solution providers within the TribalHub community.
She will also host and moderate live TribalHub webinars, podcast episodes, virtual roundtables, and regional discussions with industry executives and tech experts, as well as monitor community platforms and industry trends to identify fresh narrative opportunities and key topics within tribes.
Fellows said she is excited to help industry leaders share their impact on tribal communities.
“Getting to explore and write about a new industry is really great,” Fellows said. “Having a background in news reporting, I’m planning to use those skills to help build our network at TribalHub and make new connections. Every aspect of the world now has connections to technology, and I know that getting information out to tribes on different topics from different voices will be so valuable.”
Fellows’ previous work has centered on beats including K-12 and higher education, local and state government, business, crime, healthcare, politics, entertainment, and many more.
Growing the TribalHub community and impact are significant organizational goals, and Fellows plans to envision every new perspective as an opportunity.
“The technology world is consistently diversifying, and I’m looking forward to highlighting that,” Fellows said. “Especially within tribes, being able to help leaders connect on solutions and the ever-changing industry of technology is invaluable to me. I encourage tribal and industry leaders to reach out to me if they want to share their story, as my goal is not only to share your tribe or company story but to also disseminate strategies used by other tribes that could help other organizations with challenges. Driving narratives centered on technological impacts and solutions in tribes across the nation is what I’ll be all about.”
