The tribes sought an electronic case management system to increase efficiency, clearly define processes, and improve reporting. During this webinar, the speakers will discuss their experiences of the system implementation, lessons learned, and benefits realized through the lens of a case study.
What steps did the several tribes take when undertaking the change? The first step in implementing new software is making the decision to do so and considering what the Tribe wanted to accomplish by implementing an updated system. The Washoe Tribe of NV and CA, the Winnemucca Indian Colony and the Cedarville Rancheria are three examples of tribes we will discuss today. Judge Patricia Lenzi, Chief Judge of Cedarville and Winnemucca Tribal courts, and the former Chief Judge of the Washoe Tribal Court, will discuss the goals and deliberations that led to the decision to implement an enterprise-level system for the Court and provide considerations for what other Courts may examine. Planning the implementation for a robust database system involved several aspects including identifying system goals, outlining module customization, and staff embracing the change. The Washoe Tribe’s Project Manager, Kolby Fenster, will describe the system rollout including collaborative application development, system design, development, testing, and go live phases. Lastly, we will examine how the new data system achieved the Judge’s goals for grant reporting and other benefits they experienced.

Presentation Summary: With the constant threat of a war room looming, troubleshooting efforts consume our day with the complexity of finding and fixing issues before users are impacted — and having to manually sift through dozens of tools and their respective dashboards never feels effective, let alone efficient. As Tribal organizations look to shift from a reactive ‘availability’ mindset toward an optimal AIOps-driven ‘predictive monitoring’ footprint, there are several key steps they must address to ensure success.
During this webinar, we will demonstrate the first steps of an optimal IT Modernization journey, including:
*Reducing the pain of tool sprawl with Splunk’s intelligent event correlation
*Implementing a ‘services monitoring’ mindset through correlation and contextualization of data sources
*How integrations, such as with ServiceNow, improve collaborative remediation
Join us to learn more about how teams across Indian Country can use event correlation to unlock tremendous value, both in immediate cost savings and time spent investigating incidents, while shifting from a reactive to a predictive mindset. You’ll also hear from your peers at San Manuel on their success in this space!
Presenters
- Thomas Booth, Director of Observability Strategy for Public Sector, Splunk– Thomas is passionate about the commonality of challenges faced by Tribal Organizations, and his strategies focus on finding the data sources that deliver the highest return on any customer’s Splunk investment. These strategies are also designed to ensure customers can realize value incrementally, all while having the confidence they are making progress towards the loftiest of Observability goals.
